Saint Joseph Health System conducts three pharmacy residency programs: One PGY1 in Ambulatory Care with two positions, One PGY1 in Acute Care with one position, and One PGY2 in Ambulatory Care with two positions. These programs were established in 2004, 2006, and 2014 respectively. Simply stated the mission of the pharmacy residency programs are "to teach, to treat, and to lead." In addition to pharmacy residency programs, Saint Joseph Health System also hosts residency programs in family medicine, podiatric medicine, and sports medicine. As all programs work closely aside one another, Saint Joseph Health System offers advanced clinical training in an environment optimized for independent advancement and collaborative learning. Each program offers its trainees unopposed access to patients while having ideal collaborators available through the other residencies. This collaboration mimics the skills new pharmacists and physicians will need to thrive in the future healthcare environment. Through this we offer technological advancement, clinical excellence, and value-based care to our patients and state-of-the-art training to our residents.
