The Program Director will have responsibility for the management of a 16 bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (IRU) at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. The candidate will ensure compliance with CMS criteria for the operation of the unit, interdisciplinary therapy, reporting on quality indicators, process improvement and discharge planning. The Director will manage the unit staff and coordinate required internal resources to support its mission, patient satisfaction and compliance with regulatory requirements. The candidate will work closely with the Medical Director and hospital leadership. The position will ensure rehab standards are maintained and will ensure care is delivered in a manner consistent with RHI and IUH Ball policies and values. The Director will establish and provide performance measures reflecting the quality, efficiency and compliance of the unit and work in collaboration with the Hospital leadership to identify trends and implement improvement initiatives. The candidate must understand and exhibit principals of service excellence, lead by example and mentor others int he performance of their assigned duties.
The candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive programmatic management and oversight, including consultation, advice and assistance to the Hospital with regard to appropriate treatment, services, supervision of patients and management of the Program
Bachelor Degree in Health Care Administration, Nursing or a Therapeutic Discipline required. Masters Degree Preferred.
Minimum of 5 years in an interdisciplinary rehabilitation setting (three of which are in a direct supervisory/management role) is required. In-depth knowledge of acute rehabilitation Hospital regulations and experience requiring supervision or coordination of multiple disciplines is required.
Thorough knowledge of rehabilitation principals and those of interdisciplinary team coordination. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Knowledge of regulation and standards of accrediting/licensing agencies and ability to integrate principles to practice. Must be a good facilitator and able to maintain trust and open communication between two organizations.
